Stefanos G. Pantzopoulos, Consultant

Stefanos Pantzopoulos began his career at chartered accountants Chapman & Newbery in Istanbul. In 1965, he moved to Athens where he worked for 33 years for accounting firm Arthur Andersen. For 23 years during this time he was an affiliate of the Andersen Worldwide Organization based in Chicago, and Chairman and CEO of the company’s Greek office.

For 23 years during this time he was an affiliate of the Andersen Worldwide Organization based in Chicago, and Chairman and CEO of the company’s Greek office.

Following his retirement from Arthur Andersen – S. Pantzopoulos S.A. he worked freelance for a number of companies, including:

-National Bank of Greece (2004-2010) as a member of the Board, as head of the Audit Committee, and as advisor on issues relating to the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

- National Bank of Greece (2010-2011) as advisor to the Chairman of the Board and the Audit Committee.

His career has included membership of the boards of corporations such as Alpha Bank (Ionian Hotels – Hilton & Urban Real Estate), Papastratos, Selman, Ethniki Hellenic General Insurance, OPAP S.A., Don & Low (manufacturer in Scotland – as Chairman of the Board) and Finansbank, an NBG subsidiary in Istanbul, as well as the provision of consulting services on a freelance basis to KPMG, Argyrometallevmaton – Silver Mining Co., Mevgal, and Thrace Plastics Co. S.A. For a number of years he was also a member of the Board of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce.

SP was born in Istanbul and studied at the Zographion Lyceum and thereafter at the University of Istanbul, Department of Economics.
